About Respite Bee Farm
It all Started with a Bee Boy
Respite Bee Farm began with Ben, fresh out of college, when he first discovered his love for bees. What started as a small side hobby quickly grew into a passion that followed him around the world. From tending hives in Africa to running his own apiary behind an abandoned macadamia nut farm in Hawaii, Ben’s journey was shaped by the quiet, steady work of bees and the lessons they carried.
Then He met The Flower Girl
Then Ben met Lizzie, who was a florist at the time. He brought her into the world of beekeeping, and together they cared for their hives as a shared hobby. But as the bees kept multiplying, so did the hours Ben poured into his work with them. Lizzie “lovingly” pointed out that it might be time to either slow down… or turn this passion into something more. With her encouragement, Respite Bee Farm was born, transforming what once was a pastime into a family mission.
And Together They Started Respite Bee Farm
Today, the Baeckers pour their energy into creating a true respite for bees. Through gentle, humane removals, they rescue colonies from unwanted spaces and bring them to the farm, where the bees can thrive naturally. From there, the hives go on to pollinate local farms, strengthen the land, and even help landowners meet their ag exemption needs. At the heart of it all is a simple belief: to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to them and to use their talents to care for creation, one bee at a time.

Come join us at our farm table and be part of the conversation here at Respite Bee Farm. We’re passionate about sharing the life we’ve built through natural beekeeping, humane bee removals, and helping families understand the Texas ag exemption through bees.
Around here, we believe that farming is about more than just work, it’s also about learning from the bees themselves. They remind us how to work with purpose, to rest in the right season, and to live in harmony with the land.
That’s why we also offer beekeeping classes, so you can learn the skills to care for your own hives and experience the joy of connecting with these incredible creatures.
Whether you’re curious about what goes into a bee removal, want to see how we care for our hives, or are simply inspired by the slow-living lessons bees teach, there’s always a place for you at our table.
If this resonates with you, continue to follow along with what we do here on the farm—you’ll find stories, resources, and community that make the journey sweeter.
